Excel Analysis - Pivot Tables

Description: If you have lists of data in Excel and need to better understand or present the data, an Excel PivotTable may be the tool you need. With pivot tables, you can easily summarize vast amounts of data by date or other groupings, combine and compare data in a table, and rotate (pivot) the table’s rows and columns to see different summaries in a flash. When you leave this session, you will be able to create and use a pivot table to answer critical questions about your organization.

Collaboration with SharePoint 3.0

Description: Starting from scratch, we’ll use Windows SharePoint Services 3.0 to create and provision a SharePoint site for a team. Come find out what we learned while designing and building over a hundred SharePoint sites for teams large and small.

Click here to download the handout from the SharePoint session.

We wrote Beginning SharePoint with Excel. We also recommend Bill English's Office SharePoint Server book for IT folks who need a great Office SharePoint reference, and The SharePoint 2007 User's Guide, one of the few SharePoint books (other than ours) written for power users rather than developers.

Moving to Office 2007

Click here to download the handout from this session.

We didn't write a book on Office 2007. (We won't let that happen again!) Here are several Office books that we recommend, as well as our Beginning SharePoint with Excel book. Microsoft Office Inside Out and the Office Bible are two "complete references" for Office 2007. Step by Step books are exercises you can use to get started with new software.

Downloads mentioned in this session:
The
Compatibility Pack that Office 2003 users can install to open Office 2007 documents.

You knew where everything was in Office 2003, now you've moved to Office 007 and.....arrrrrrrrgh! Scream less! Smile more! Download the ribbon maps from the Microsoft site:

Looking for an Excel book? We still think our Excel 2002 book is the best for 2002-2003 (and it's cheap because it's only available second hand). Here's that great book, and other books that we recommend for Excel 2007:
